Liar's Club

Okay, so many of you have played the Liar's Club game where you tell 4 truths and 1 lie.

Got tagged by a buddy, so here we go...

1. I got my current wedding ring in three different pieces, three different stores, and on three different occasions.

2. I hate watermelon and supreme pizzas.

3. I hate to go to sleep and hate to get up in the morning because I usually have awesome dreams!

4. I think pedicures are gross, but get them all the time anyway.

5. I love ranunculas and hydrangeas, mostly because I think their names are cool.

Alright, which is the lie? I will tell you next week.

If I had 50 million dollars...

I would...

* not tell anyone, or I would tell them that I had a lot less than I really did so that they don't expect anything from me or turn into "money grabbers". I already know who my real friends are, I don't care for "fake" people.

* hire a lawyer, someone I already know, so that I know they're trustworthy.

* buy a house, with a nice guest house. I wouldn't buy a huge house, just something big enough to make be happy, have each child have their own room and bathroom, a music room with a baby grand piano, a drum set and violins. The guest house is, of course, for guests, I want everyone to come visit. It would have a shed for Curt to work on his airplanes. They make him happy and I want him to be happy! He would have a small allowance, but wouldn't have to sell his plasma for extra parts like I make him do right now.

* Hire a part time maid to help me clean that happy home... and landscapers to mow the yard, I would still do the gardening myself, some of the cleaning. My kids can do the rest.

* donate 5 million to the church, maybe more.

* donate 2 million to the mission fund

* set up mission funds for my kids.

* donate 3 million to the perpetual education fund. If you teach a man to fish...

* donate 2 million anonymously to the Red Cross. Any after the kids are grown, I would donate my time to them.

* invest 20 million in whatever Mike Reynolds told me to. Yes, I really would hire him to do that for me. He knows more about things like that than Curt and I do.

* set up trustfunds for my kid's educations. I hate student loans. But I would make this just for their tuition and books, they still need to learn responsibility and should have to pay for where they live and support their own lifestyle.

* Buy a car for Curtis. Not a fast one... have you driven with him? He's scary. Maybe I should buy him a "green car". That way he won't burn through gas so quickly either. I like my minivan... I think I would keep it for a while.

* Keep the Townhome, buy the others that are attached, and rent it out at a super low rate for newly married, ACTIVE members of the ward until my kids are old enough to use it. Then, I would have them pay me the same rent. But it's nice to know your neighbors and have a support system where you live, especially the first few years of marriage. But they would only be allowed to live there until they were done with school or four years, whichever came first. I would also put solar panels on the roof to help with their electric bills.

* Pay off all of our debt, which in the real world is not very much but seems like a lot to me. Like I said before, I hate school loans.

* Ignore ALL of the credit cards! If I have the money, why use credit? It would seem kind of pointless. Then... who would care about your credit rating? I wouldn't have to use credit!

* Help out my closest friends. I have some friends that have financial issues that they have caused themselves... but I would still help them. My friend's hubby got them into so real financial trouble and she has suffered through it with him. They have never rubbed it in our faces when they were making money and were always willing to share (they still share what little they have left).

* Build us a year supply and have 72 hour kits for my entire family. Parents, Siblings, in-laws on both sides, nieces, nephews..

* Throw a huge party. Not like the MTV Sweet Sixteen type, but more like in my backyard with a huge BBQ and a couple of blowup slide for the kids. Where we would serve Ribs, all you can eat wings from Native New Yorker and Ribeyes.

* Speaking of parties, have an annual New Year's Eve party where I would serve waffles. It's a family tradition.

* Hire a personal trainer. Someone who can come in and kick my butt into shape. Someone who knows what to say to me to get me going.

* Get my chest deflated. They have always been to large and I want to be more proportionate after I loose all my weight. A size C would be nice.

* Curt would still have to work, I would still have to be a mom. I want my kid's role models to be their parents.

Sorry that it's so long, but I have really thought this out!

I choose for things to be better.

It seems as though sometimes...just sometimes things go my way. Lately, I have tried really hard to have peace in my life and "chose the better part". I have started to let things go... in a good way. I was reading an article by David A Bednar called "And nothing shall offend them" and was reminded of how life is supposed to be.

I really enjoyed this talk. I have been offended by some people lately and decided that I was going to make an effort to forgive the offense as it happens.

My mother has said to me in the past that when I get mad, that's when she knows that I need a nap. She told me that she has never known me to hold a grudge after I woke up from sleeping. It's true, but I have gotten away from that. I have had some conversations lately where I have realized that I was offended and the offender had no idea (which is what happens most of the time).
I started thinking in the "I can't believe that they...", which is a judgemental start and no good can follow that phrase.

Such is the case with Mom's Group, I was so excited to have the moms in the ward over to go swimming... and one person came (Thanks, Kendra!). I decided that no matter how many people came, I was going to have fun. So, Kendra, Hayden, Carson and I went swimming; and I had fun.

Right after that morning, I started thinkingback and realized that everytime I went to someone else's home, they always had few people there. I started looking at myself and wondering what I had done to offend others so that they didn't come. I quickly changed my attitude and thought process to "there must have been something happening that I didn't know about." There was, it was Meet the Teacher Day at the local pre-school, at the same time of mom's group. I later found this out when I started recieving emails and calls about why people were sorry that they couldn't make it. A few of them have told me that had it been the day before or after, they would have been able to make it.

I have always thought that I wasn't a judgemental person, but have come to realize the problem with that... I am. I just didn't let them know that I was judging them, so I thought that I wasn't judging.

All in all, I have thought lately about the wonder of Free Agency and the blessings it brings. It CAN bring heartache, but only if it is of our own allowance.
